I LOVE MY HUSBAND

I was in a dead sleep this morning. About 3am I sort of sensed someone staring at me... I look over and Brendan's just staring at me, he's been crying.

I say "what's wrong babe?"

He sniffs and says he has just watched the movie Fire Proof and feels like he is a lousy husband. WHOA! That's pretty heavy at 3am.

I haven't seen the movie myself, yet... but I can't imagine what it's like! My husband does not just cry for no reason. And I have no idea WHY it made him feel that way. He said it made him realize that he doesn't treat me how he should. This blows my mind, because I think he is a terrific husband and provider. Sure he gets in his moods, but who doesn't? No one has a perfect day, every day....

All I know is that he referred to this movie as "life changing", so I need to pop it in the DVD player ASAP!!

* I watched it... very good movie. Definitely shows you how you should treat your spouse AND that God should be in charge

My So Called, not so exciting, Life...

I know I haven't posted anything lately. Quite frankly, up until yesterday I was sick as a dog... plus, other than loving my new job (still!), I really haven't had anything to talk about. Is that a good or bad thing LOL? I am a lot more comfortable in my job now. It's definitely not rocket science, and we won't be curing diseases, but we run a facility that people need, and we do it to the best of our abilities. I guess that's all you can really ask for in life. God has blessed me a hundred times over, and this place is one of those blessings!

On the movie front... (you know I couldn't post a blog without mentioning our favorite past times!)

We went and saw Watchmen, Taken and Knowing recently. All were pretty good.

Taken really makes you fall in love with Liam Neeson. He's a total bad ass... AND it makes you think about what can/does happen to people who travel to other countries and... WHOOPS, almost gave the main plot away!!!! I highly recommend everyone OVER the age of 18 go see it. It has some very strong adult content that's totally unsuitable for the little ones.

I didn't really get Watchmen. I guess you had to really be in to comics? There were some cool characters in it, but it didn't blow me away.

Knowing was good, but very weird at the end, also very sad. Nuff said, go see it.

Twilight came out Saturday. I haven't gone to go get my copy yet, but you know I will SOON!!! Oh Edward, you are so deadly, but so yummmmmy ;-)

On the health front...

*NOTE: no one panic, please... I really think this is no big deal...

I went to the walk-in clinic Friday, because I kept running fever and my cough was out of control. I felt rattling when I took a breath and that has never been a good sign. Luckily the doctor that saved my life in 2007 was on that night, Dr. Mario Pena (LOVE YOU DOC!!!) and to my surprise he remembered me from that time. So I tell him what's going on, he doesn't "hear" any sign of pneumonia, but since I have the history I have, he ordered a chest x-ray to be safe.

So he views the x-ray and says he thinks my heart looks slightly enlarged and that I need to see my PCP or cardiologist ASAP. Needless to say, my heart kind of went up into my throat for a minute.

My loving husband, who is so wise, told me not to worry... he was almost certain that it was nothing to worry about. He has a theory that because my heart was so enlarged a year and a half ago (as a result from the congestive heart failure) it is still trying to go back down in size. I don't know why, but that makes sense to me. I am no doctor (but I play one on TV - ahhhhhhh hahahaha - CHEESY!), but my heart was like.... HUGE from the Endocarditis and mitral regurgitation. it will take it awhile to fully recover from that.

So even though I have no confirmation on this... I have a calm feeling about all of it, plus I know God's watching out for me, like he always does. So I am totally not worried about it :-) I go see Dr. Hinshaw on Tuesday, and we will just have to wait and see what he says. I SOOOOO hope he doesn't have me go see my cardiologist, because she will totally yell at me for not losing any weight, like she told me too... BOO!

Well, that pretty much wraps it up... now that life is back to normal (with an exception here and there I guess), I'm not that exciting hahaha... oh wait, was I exciting before?!

My Week...

The job at Wilkerson is going AWESOMELY!!! All of the people I work with are great, so nice, so helpful. The lady I am replacing will be here for at least a month, so we can take training slow, so I can get really comfortable with everything. My official title is Freezer Dock Manager... but I help out wherever I am needed. The customers are pretty nice, not too demanding.

I feel so incredibly lucky and blessed. Now, if it would either SNOW FOR REAL or be nice and sunny around here I'd be completely content, as the change in weather has kept me sick all week... but amen for Z-Packs!!!!!

FINALLY!!!!!

Yesterday evening I got a call from Bill at Wilkerson Storage. I applied there a couple of months ago, and interviewed twice... but in the end they chose someone else. I was pretty upset by it...

Well last night Bill called and asked me if I still wanted the job... the lady they had hired, instead of me, didn't work out (I resisted the urge to say "I knew you made the wrong decision!") and he offered me the job! I of course said YES!!

I go in Monday AM to take a drug screen and I start work Tuesday.

God is so good to us. He certainly takes his time... but it is worth it in the end!!

*UPDATE 3/11/09: so far so good! I REALLY like the people I work with and the job training is going well. YAY!!!!

I was tagged by Jen!

My HandbagHere are the rules:

1. Post a picture of whichever bag you are using today - no cheating now!

2. Tell us how much it cost and if there is a story behind it (whats in it?)!

3. Tag some fellow bloggers and link back to this post so people know why you are posting pictures of your bag.

1. This is my itty bitty Coach purse. I have a little button on the Coach tag that says "I am loved" from my Valentine's Day gift from Helzberg. It just reminds, once again, how awesome my husband is and how much he loves me

2. Brendan got it for me Christmas '07. I never carry anything else - usually.... I will admit purses are my weakness. I have a ton of them, but this one is special to me.

I can fit a lot of stuff in here, amazingly. I have my little black wallet, my Blackberry, my inhaler, hand sanitizer, check book, pens, gum, my very extensive list of meds - you k now, just in case, etc etc. Nothing exciting... as long as I place everything strategically in there, it all fits!!

3. Tag some fellow bloggers and link back to this post so people know why you are posting pictures of your bag. << I know no one will do this, so I will save the tagging, for another day :-)

Soap Operas...

Why am I obsessed with watching Y&R and Days of Our Lives? They are so horribly cheesy and stoopid. The lines people say to each other are awful!!!

"Max (gazing in to Chelsey's eyes) says... I love this place too. Almost as much as I love your eyes."

SERIOUSLY?! WHO says stuff like that? I have to admit, if my husband said something like to me, while I would be flattered, I would pee my pants laughing hysterically... Of course we are the most unromantic people on the planet, so maybe that's why LOL

YAY!!

So as you have read (maybe), when I got married, life was a bit crazy... just got out of the hospital, have major open heart surgery right after, etc etc. Then, when I thought life was back to normal, I get thrown in to the hospital again for bleeding to death LOL.

Needless to say, the little tasks of legally becoming MRS KENDRA MASSEY as far as the United States Government and the state of Texas, were the LAST thing on my mind.

Well I FINALLY got my lazy butt around to changing my name with Social Security and DPS. So I guess you could say that I am LEGALLY Mrs Kendra Massey now! WOO HOO!!!

Yay for laziness. Only took me a year and a half hahaha.
